Drone flying over an industrial installation
About us

Drone Flight Romania (DFR), the first Romanian BVLOS aerial security operator for critical infrastructure

We are bringing to Romania an aerial security and inspection model already proven in the Netherlands, with full operations, legal compliance built in and our own management team. It is not a new, untested concept.

// OUR MODEL

A proven model, brought to Romania

DFR Team DFR Team

Drone Flight Romania (DFR) is implementing in Romania a BVLOS operating model for critical infrastructure that the Dutch aviation authority (ILT) has already validated, authorizing PDRA procedures for autonomous inspection and surveillance drones.

We are not building a new, untested concept: we are adapting a methodology already proven in real operations to the Romanian market.

// COMPLIANCE

The regulatory framework we operate in

EASA AACR SORA PDRA

We operate within the EASA and AACR regulatory framework that applies to BVLOS operations, with SORA/PDRA files prepared and submitted to the competent authority for every project.

// PRINCIPLES

How we work

01

We start from the client's needs

Before any quote, we establish what has to be protected or monitored, and under what conditions. Only then do we choose the aircraft, the docking station, the routes and how often missions fly. For an industrial site, for example, we define the geofence, the sensitive areas and the patrol schedule based on the real risks of that location.

02

Compliance before the first flight

We don't start an operation without the right authorization framework. We choose the correct path (open category, STS, PDRA or SORA) depending on complexity, and we get the approvals before the first mission. For the Dărăști site we went through the full process, with SORA 2.5 and an Operations Manual, and AACR authorization was granted before operations began.

03

Procedural rigor

The client knows at any moment who does what and how each situation is handled. We work with internal and operational procedures, pre- and post-flight checklists, a flight log, incident reports and an emergency response plan.

04

Flexibility

Every client wants a different level of involvement, so we don't impose a single model. Some choose the full service, flown by our pilots. Others want only consultancy and documentation for their own team.
